The Council of Lutheran Churches invites you to a service to mark the start of the Lutheran Reformation, held on the anniversary of when it is thought Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the church door. The service will be led by Bishop Tor Berger Jørgensen, CLC Chair and Bishop of the LCiGB.
Bishop Tor invites us to remember that Martin Luther stood up for what he regarded as the truth, “The truth of the Gospel of God’s grace gave him power to endure the challenges facing his society in his days, including the fight against the plague in the summer 1527. “The truth will set you free,” says Jesus in one of the texts for the Reformation Day. I will share some thoughts with you around this theme.”
The Reformation Day Service is organised by the Council of Lutheran Churches in the UK. Last year the joint Lutheran service was held in Norwegian St Olav’s Church in London. This year we can meet online on Saturday 31 October 6.30pm UK time.
All are most welcome to join either the Zoom service or to watch the livestream following either of the links below .
